After shedding his buddy Charlie on Christmas Eve, Bobby Whiteside ventures out onto the lake where they played video games of wintertime hockey. Upon shoveling the ice surface he uncovers a magic, perfectly groomed hockey rink that shows up just at night in his existence. When a growth company starts purchasing lake frontage, Bobby signs up with pressures with his high school crush to rally the town to play one last video game on the night pond.
