Air America was the CIA's private airline operating in Laos during the Vietnam War, running everything and anything to food stuffs for local villagers from soldiers. Billy Covington is recruited right to it after losing his pilot license, and eventually ends up inside the middle of gunrunning by his friend Gene Ryack a whole lot of pilots that were lunatic, also opium smuggling by their own superiors.
