Amanda, a ten-year-old girl, urgently wants a dog, but her father will not allow it. When she comes upon a juvenile fox, she and her friend Maggie come up with a plan to keep it as a companion. They have no idea what is in store for them when the fox is pursued by a pair of sleazy, inept Russians who have an ulterior motive for pursuing him.
