Muhsin al-Khafaji, an Iraqi ex-policeman who lost everything shortly after Saddam Hussein's overthrow, is fighting on a daily basis to keep himself and his ailing daughter, Mrouj, safe in a hostile environment. After learning that his estranged eldest daughter Sawsan has gone missing, Khafaji is compelled to embark on a desperate quest for his daughter.
