Virgil Blessing and cowboys Beauregard Decker attend a rodeo in Phoenix, where Decker falls in love with cafe singer Cherie. He would like to take Cherie straight back to his native Montana and marry her, however, she dreams of becoming famous and traveling to Hollywood. Cherie is forced by Decker straight back to Montana with him when she resists his advances but, the tables have been turned, when the bus makes an unscheduled stop due to weather.
