Overview
Sgt. Major John Frost returns home a month early from his previous deployment and is relieved to be home for Christmas. He discovers that his wife, Jill, and son Jimmy are too busy to greet him warmly, and in his absence, they have adopted a dog-a small dog named Charlie. John finds peace among his other vets at the Moose Lodge until Charlie discovers Hank, a retired Vietnam veteran who is destitute and suffering from a heart attack. John discovers his calling as he organizes his friends, family, and community to build a new home for the vets, providing them with a warm Christmas Eve and a fresh start in civilian life.
