a Parisian affluent suburb. Gilles and Christine, both sixteen years old, are friends and lovers who have grown weary of their families' aloofness and the overall monotony of their life. When the pair is arrested for shoplifting, Christine's father places her in a care for emotionally troubled youngsters, separating her from Gilles for the time being. Fortunately for them, she escapes, and the couple considers fleeing together.
