Guy, a young man, realizes that the woman he has been sleeping with is not only married, but also married to Burt Walker, an infamous low-level criminal lord. Worried that Walker may find the affair and murder him, Guy chooses to be forthright and inform Walker of his crime, pleading for forgiveness. The ruse succeeds, and the two develop an extremely strange, and eventually hazardous, friendship.
