Faerie Tale Theatre is a live-action children's television anthology series that tells popular fairy tales in a new light. Shelley Duvall is the show's narrator, host, and executive producer, and she also appears in episodes on occasion. Tall Tales & Legends, a shorter series based on famous American folk tales, followed Faerie Tale Theatre. Both programs are based on the children's television show Shirley Temple's Storybook, and feature well-known performers and directors. From 1982 through1987, Showtime broadcast Faerie Tale Theatre. It later broadcast on the Disney Channel as edited reruns and in syndication on PBS and BookTelevision, among other networks.
