Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first Shuttle mission, together with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a spacewalk that is routine, disaster strikes. The Shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky to just eachother and spiraling out into the blackness of space. They are told by the silence that they will have lost any chance for rescue and any URL into Earth. Every spoonful of air eats away at what little oxygen will be left as fear turns to panic. Nevertheless the method dwelling is to move further into the expanse of distance.
