Gripped is a feature-length rock-climbing survival epic set on the edge of a 1,000-foot precipice in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Gripped chronicles Rose's first outdoor climb as a gym climber in Los Angeles. Rose falls for Bret, an accomplished outdoorsman, while climbing with her buddy Jade. She convinces him to take her on a famous, advanced rock climbing route named "Killer Pillar" against his better judgment. Bret sustains a significant head injury and a torn shoulder as a result of his accident. With no other option but to ascend, Rose must lead the ascent. They still have a long journey ahead of them and are forced to bivouac on a cliffside ledge at night. Bret wanders in and out of consciousness the next day, as a storm approaches. Rose must save them both.
