Overview
It follows Malia,12, as she is kidnapped from her Sudanese town in the Nubar Mountains and sold into slavery by pro-government Arab militia to a mother in Khartoum who abuses her for touching her daughter. Based on the true tale of Mende Nazer. Then she is moved to London where her name is changed but her sad life goes on. Her passport is removed and she is informed she may lose her father if she reports her captors. She encounters a friendly guy who seems to offer her hope of escape and reunion with Bah in Sudan. Despite the film's optimism, the final credits say that there are currently 5,000 "slave" labourers in Britain.
