Is an American television set based on publication and the motion picture of the same name starring Carroll O'Connor whilst the snowy police chief William Gillespie, also Howard Rollins while the authorities detective Virgil Tibbs. It was broadcast on NBC from 1988 until 1992, and then on CBS before 1995. Its producers were Carroll O'Connor, Juanita Bartlett and Fred Silverman. TGG Direct released the series' very first season to DVD.
