Overview
Action-adventure game show Legends of the Hidden Temple is aimed at kids. An ancient Mayan temple guarded by mysterious Mayan guards is the setting for this television series. A talking Olmec Head (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) announces and voices the teams' guide, Kirk Fogg. Six teams of two children compete to collect one of the Temple's historical artifacts by doing physical stunts and answering questions about history, mythology, and geography. In the end, only one team is left standing after three rounds of elimination, and that team is given the opportunity to retrieve the artifact from the Temple and win a grand reward. In conjunction with Nickelodeon, Stone Stanley Productions produced Legends of the Hidden Temple and filmed the show in Orlando, Florida at Nickelodeon Studios. This show ran from September 11, 1993 through February 28, 1999 in reruns on Nickelodeon. The show was rebroadcast on Nick GAS and TeenNick in reruns from 1999 to 2007 It won a CableACE award for Best Game Show Special or Series in 1995 for Legends of the Hidden Temple.
