The story takes place in a made-up country with cultural influences from South American countries, mostly from Brazil. In the title, Michiko is a free-willed "sexy diva" who escapes from a prison fortress that was thought to be impossible to get out of, while Hatchin is a girl who runs away from her abusive foster family. The two work together to make a very unlikely escape to freedom.
