Overview
Sara Góralnik's actual story, a 13-year-old Polish Jew whose entire family was murdered by the Nazis in September 1942. Sara steals the name of her Christian best friend and seeks sanctuary in a tiny village, where she is taken in by a farmer and his young wife following a harrowing escape to the Ukrainian countryside. She quickly uncovers the horrible truths behind her bosses' marriage, aggravating the most vital secret she must protect: her own identity.
