Overview
An epic biblical saga of ambition, faith and betrayal as told through the resentful prophet Samuel, the eyes of the battle-weary King Saul and also the literary young shepherd David--on a collision course. Saul, one thousand years before Christ, the king of the Israelites, struggles to unite the 1-2 Israelite tribes and defend his fledgling state against enemy attacks. The prophet Samuel relays a message he must destroy one of Israel's ancient enemies. However, if Saul defies this particular message, Samuel prophesies that god pick another in his place and and he will rip the kingdom of Israel apart. With time, Saul comes to understand that his hazard won't result out of his opponents, but from the shepherd.
