C.R. MacNamara can do anything to find yourself a promotion within the cocacola company, including looking after manager W.P. Hazeltine's rebellious teenage daughter, Scarlett. When Scarlett visits Berlin, where C.R. is cried, she reveals that she is married to a communist named Otto Piffl -- also C.R. admits that Otto's anti-establishment stance will probably clash with his boss's own political views, possibly endangering his promotion.
