Back in 1970s Iran, Marjane'Marji' Statrapi watches events through her young eyes and her family of a dream being fulfilled with the despised Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. She witnesses first hand the new Iran has become a tyranny on its own as Marji grows upwards.
