Overview
Ouvéa Island, New Caledonia, April 1988. A squad of Kanak independence warriors kidnaps 30 gendarmes. To restore order, 300 soldiers are dispatched from France. Two men square off: Philippe Legorjus, the terrorist squad's commander, and Alphonse Dianou, the kidnappers' leader. They will seek to win the discussion by leveraging their shared ideals. However, during a presidential election, when political stakes are high, morality does not always trump order. A violent and disturbing epic that marks Mathieu Kassovitz's comeback to both front and back of the camera.
