The series uses"mockumentary" techniques to portray the literary, reality television-style adventures of passionate professional critic Forrest MacNeil, who hosts a TV series called"Inspection" in which he participates in virtually any life-experience his viewers ask him to, to find out if that life adventure"is any good". Afterward, Forrest rates daily adventure in-studio. However, Forrest's compulsive curiosity and uncompromising commitment to the series unexpectedly backfire in ways which progressively ruin his life as he is requested to examine'stealing','''drug addiction','''being a racist','''getting divorced',''getting revenge', and'running out of the law.
