Nemuri Kyoshiro (Raizô Ichikawa), a wandering warrior, discovers a bulls-eye on his back after meeting the shogunate's tight-fisted finance adviser, Asahina, who has aroused the fury of the shogun's self-indulgent daughter by slashing her stipend. The outraged princess immediately concocts a plan to have Asahina and his protector, Kyoshiro, deported. Shiho Fujimura also appears in this edition of the wildly successful film franchise.
