Overview
After the passing of her husband, the woman who is the mother of Julie, Jack, Sue, and Tom begins to experience symptoms of a mystery sickness. She is aware that she will need to go into the hospital, so she decides to open a bank account for the children so that they would be able to support themselves financially and prevent the state from having to take them into care. Unfortunately, she passes away as well, and Julie and Jack, who are now older and in their teenage years, make the decision to bury her remains in the basement so that they can have unrestricted control over their home. Soon after, Tom starts dressing up as a girl, while Sue becomes more reserved, confiding in her diary alone. In the meantime, Jack and Julie begin to feel an attraction for one another. However, Julie's new lover, Derek, who is becoming increasingly suspicious of Jack, poses a threat to reveal many of the dark truths that have been kept hidden inside this family.
