Five college pals gather in a castle in Piemonte, Italy, for a reunion. According to local mythology, Johanna of Anjou, the castle's queen, was blamed for the drought and famine that struck the region. She placed a curse in her notebook prior to being hanged by the villagers and then murdered herself. The party is intrigued by the legend and enters the forbidden area where Joanna died one night while inebriated. They discover her diary there. Joanna's energy reappears, and her zeal for vengeance is unfathomable.
