December30, 1941. Vyazma ('Vyazemsky cauldron') is a small group of Soviet soldiers engaged in an unequal struggle with a special unit of the Wehrmacht. None of them, however, consider giving up. Each of them was willing to lay down his life to defend his native land. These valiant individuals were not all born with heroic qualities. The legend of the red ghost involves a Soviet soldier in the Great Patriotic War who implanted in animals a mortal fear of German soldiers. In lieu of one of the deceased heroes, another was substituted, and the legend of the unbeatable Soviet soldier was formed. The film "The Red Ghost" is about the optimism that every soldier has.
