Jean and Costs are a couple attempting to scratch a living. Out of the blue they get a telegram notifying them Bill's long-lost uncle has died and left them his service-- a movie theater in the town of Sloughborough. However they can't offer it for the lot of money they hoped as they find it is falling down and nearly worthless.
