Overview
The purity of youth and family unravels on one evening over a decade of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. Five parallel coming-of-age stories portray the stages of mourning in dramatic fashion. A young mother battling for custody of her children finds solace in the bottle. Her ex-cruelty husband's continues to plague her children: a nineteen-year-old heroin addict and his younger brother, a bullied closet gay. There is the story of the dog; an adolescent who sells sexual favors in exchange for approval; the challenged classmate who will do anything for love; and the redheaded beauty plagued by a secret, terrible history. These and other lives will forever change on this final evening before their hangout, The Toy Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors for good.
