Catherine Clare unwillingly trades life in 1980s Manhattan for a remote home in the little community of Chosen, New York City, after her other half George lands a job teaching art history at a tiny Hudson Valley university. Even as she does her best to change the old dairy farm into a place where young daughter Franny will enjoy, Catherine increasingly discovers herself isolated and alone.
