Stewart Paylor is meant to be presenting chapters of his next novel following the publication of his enormously successful debut novel. Stewart is suffering from writer's block and has not produced a single word, despite the fact that everyone around him, including Cynthia, his literary agent/girlfriend, is aware of it. If that wasn't enough, upon returning home from vacation to find a homeless mother, Cassandra, and her two children, Jake, 12, and Vera, 9, squatting in his house because they had nowhere else to go, he goes even farther down the rabbit hole of mediocrity.
