A book editor has offered actress Reese Holden a small fortune if she can gain publication of her father's love letters to her mother, who has since died. When she returns to Michigan, she discovers that an ex-grad student and aspiring musician have moved in with her father, who is more concerned with his new companions than with his own health and well-being.
