American Gladiators is an competition TV show that aired in Canada on NBC and City-tv. Directed by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali, the series matches amateur athletes against each other and the show's own"gladiators" in contests of strength, agility, and endurance. It's a picture of the initial series of the same name which ran from 1989--1996, with parts of the 1990s' UK version. Al Kaplon referees the series. Van Earl Wright handles narration.
Season 1 has been taped at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. You Start with Season 2, the series transferred for the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Reveille Productions and MGM Television produce it.
American Gladiators premiered on Sunday, January 6, 2008. A mean of 12 million people watched the premiere. The other Season 1 episodes aired Mondays except for the finale, which aired Sunday February 17, 2008 in 7:00 ET/PT. Season 2 expired May 12, 2008, on NBC, with a two-hour episode. The Season aired in 8:00 ET/PT on August 4, 2008. The Season 2 finale consisted of this semifinal round , while the last two-hour bout of Season 1 was devoted entirely to the finals.
