The Emperor (Chang Chen) is desperate to its free-spirited lifetime of a wanderer, and tries to flee from the imperial palace with his sister, the Princess (Faye Wong). The Princess, disguised like a man, manages to flee, although he's captured and returned to his mother by the guards. Meanwhile, King Bully (Tony Leung) has returned to his hometownwhere he could be widely despised for his bullying manners, to run a restaurant with his tomboy sister, Phoenix (Vicki Zhao). They have a very close relationship. In actuality, King Bully mistakenly believes that he can read his sister's mind. Whenever the Princess arrives in the town, King Bully finds himself interested in her, but, presuming she is a man, decides that his attraction is some type of compassion with Phoenix.
