Overview
Gungrave is a Japanese animated television series based on the game of the identical name. The series is directed at Toshiyuki Tsuru, from the screenplay by Yousuke Kuroda, also created by Madhouse Studios.
The series follows Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell since they rise through the positions of their Millennion offense syndicate.
Gungrave aired on TV Tokyo in October 6, 2003 to March 29, 2004, totaling twentysix events. Like its sequel Gungrave: Overdose, also the Gungrave video game, the' series' music is supplied by Tsuneo Imahori. This also includes the series' opening motif.
At 2003 Geneon Entertainment Pioneer Entertainment, announced the permit of Gungrave. On July 3, 2008, Geneon Entertainment and Funimation Entertainment announced an agreement to distribute select titles in the united states after Geneon ceased supply of their titles in October 2007. While the permit will be still retained by Geneon Entertainment, Funimation Entertainment will assume exclusive rights to the manufacturing, marketing, sales and supply of titles. Gungrave was announced among the titles. As of November 26, 2010, Funimation has fully licensed the series. The series returned on the Funimation Channel on May 11, 2011 to US television.
