Overview
Ideal is just a British dark comedy sit com, originally broadcast on digital channel BBC Three, created by Graham Duff and produced by BBC Comedy North and Baby Cow Productions. It stars Johnny Vegas as small-time cannabis dealer Moz.
It's put in Salford, Greater Manchester, because Duff was comfortable with the area having done many gigs that were stand-up there chosen. Most of the series revolves around the diverse collection of personalities who see Moz to get cannabis, possibly or socialise and occurs at the apartment of Moz.
The final theme is"Song of the Oss" from the record Nuada: Music Inspired By the Film that the Wicker Man written by British band Candidate. The series also includes a range of monitors by Californian hip hop group ugly-duckling.
It had been broadcast at the UK on BBC Three, on entertainment station 3e at Ireland and on ABC2 at Australia.
1st broadcast in 2005, seven series have been shown. The most recent ended on 30 June 2011.
After the series dipped, Ideal was cancelled with the BBC. Following the announcement, writer and creator Graham Duff wrote to fans:"As a few of you might have heard, the BBC have decided against an 8th set of Ideal. The rationale was that the new station controller wanted to create a clean sweep. It's just a source of both pride and frustration which, at the idea of cancellation, Ideal was bringing its biggest its greatest profile its most useful and guest celebrities ever reviews, ever viewers. And the series is presently being screened more countries than in the past - from America to Finland and outside." Fans have found a petition to saving the series dedicated.
