When in 1941 Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, Leningrad was quickly besieged by their soldiers. Journalists are evacuated but one of them, Kate Davies, is presumed dead and misses the plane. Alone from the city she's helped by Nina Tsvetnova idealist police officer and a young and they will fight for their own success and the success of the people within the besieged Leningrad.
